I was sent off with the brief 'Nostalgia' and was grateful to be given creative freedom to produce a centerfold image that I felt fit best, so I took my cameras on an outing and took a few rolls of film of scenes that felt like nostalgia to me, I picked the ones people responded to the most.
The crayon doodles were applied to the final print, adding a tactile, personal and intentional element, especially since it would be in the hands of so many Victoria University students the following week. My goal was for the photos to feel like glimpses into the past or a memory, while the crayon drawings, along with my lovely model Laura enjoying herself, kept the tone playful.
